WAVES FLOWERS is a one-of-a-kind shirt/cape, hand-printed and naturally dyed by artist Marjut Uotila using real plants.

This unique piece is pre-treated and dyed with black tea and etched with oxalis leaves, resulting in a delicate golden beige design.

In the botanical printing process, the fabric—here, repurposed 100% cotton—is first pre-treated to ensure colourfast results. Flower petals and leaves (fresh or pressed) are meticulously arranged on the fabric, which is then tightly rolled and steamed. During this process, the natural pigments from the plants transfer onto the fibres, creating a truly unique and unrepeatable design.

WAVES style is Dusty’s interpretation of the classic shirt. Only that it’s not a shirt but rather a cape. The shirt/cape is made of single piece of fabric, with added collar, button list and cuffs.

There is only one piece and its measurements are as follows:

• A, neck: 42 cm

• B, front length: 90 cm

• C, back length: 96 cm

• D, sleeve (without cuff): 82 cm

The shirt is hand made in Lahti, Finland as all Dusty’s garments. Material is lightweight 100% cotton, made in Italy.

The natural dyes and prints are colorfast and washable. We recommend hand washing or using a gentle machine cycle in 30°C water, drying on a hanger, and ironing or steaming at cotton temperature if needed. Please note that prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the colors and prints to fade over time.
